Summer Skin = Death Cab for Cutie |
] |
Squeaky swings and tall grass The longest shadows ever cast The water's warm and children swim And we frolicked about in our summer skin
I don't recall a single care Just greenery and humid air Then Labor day came and went And we shed what was left of our summer skin
On the night you left I came over And we peeled the freckles from our shoulders Our brand new coats so flushed and pink And I knew your heart I couldn't win Cause the season's change was a conduit And we'd left our love in our summer skin
The saying goes, "all good things must come to an end." I feel like this summer is going to mean the end of a lot of good things. This isn't really a bad thing, it's just a fact of life. People always talk about "magical summers" and "those amazing summer nights," and up until this year I was typically the cynic who said those people were full of crap and had their bikinis strapped on a little too tight. I have come to see the meaning of having a truly great summer though, and I think I've come out of it having learned a lot.
At the beginning of the summer I learned about limits. Too much involvement, too much misery, too much impulsiveness, too much bullshit. How much a person can take, and how much they should take are two very different things. Doing what's right by you, the thing you have to do, may not be doing what's right by someone else. Choices we have to live with, and more importantly back up. I stood up for myself and learned sometimes it's a good thing. On the highway of life you can't let someone else drive your car. Other times, we're impulsive and anry and confused, and say things we don't mean. My punishment was losing a lot of time, but even then everything always works out in the end. The natural lines that people walk in can be shaken up but will fall back into place. I guess that just goes to show that even fires on burning bridges can be put out.
"A Midsummer Night's Dream." Shakespeare was on to something. Midsummer was definately dream-like. Slugging through econ classes, rippin' with the Terror Squad. It was one of those instances where doing next to nothing was doing something amazing. There were times when I was so surprised it was as if my socks had been geuinely knocked off. We surprise each other; apparently it's in our nature. Sometimes, things that we wrote off as only happening in our wildest dreams really will occur. Those nights were great. Sometimes, I felt like for every step forward, I took two steps back. Life is just too good to spend being miserable though. What it boils down to is that some things just can't be, and when you see that it feels so good. I felt a lot of things in that time. I probably have never laughed so hard, cried like a baby, gotten so ridiculously angry, or smiled so much as I have this summer.
Right now I'm standing in the doorway between summer's end and my senior year of high school. I'm confident. I'm happy, because life is good and happiness is relative. (Although I haven't done any of my reading or essays) Looking back to where I was one year ago, it seems like that place is thousands of years ago and a million miles away. What I took from summer the most was the best way to live life. It can really be summed up in 3 small words... Deal with it. If you manage what life throws at you in a manner that, in your heart, you know is the best way to deal with it, then you'll do just fine. I look forward to approaching my senior year with the valuable things I have collected.
This was definately one for archives.

If life's a beach, then my advice to you is to ride the waves of life. Don't let the waves ride you. If you spend your life getting banged around in the undertow of the world around you, you're never going to get anywhere and you're telling others that it's alright to abuse you because you abuse yourself. I think the old saying goes, "If you don't stand for anything, you'll fall for nothing." I am typically a naysayer of old adages, but whoever said this was really on to something.
I know in the previous entry I talked about a quote that tells us to "grasp at nothing, resist nothing." If we're to follow this, are we still supposed to stand up for ourselves? Standing up for yourself seems to be some sort of resistance. In life there are times to be at peace, and there are times to fight, and between the two equilibrium can be found. If the point of life is to follow the path to reach nirvana or some sort of peace, surely we have to stand up for ourselves at some point? If life was spent in a completely passive state, taking every abuse thrown at us, surely we'd never even get to walk the path to begin with.
I'm still pretty confused by this. Maybe we live the good life when we naturally know the right times to act, and the right times to let things pass. This is a very hefty thing to wrap your mind around.

| And it leans on me, like a rootless tree |
[Tuesday, Aug. 8/06 - 12:04PM] |
Some say that nobody really knows anything about anybody. You will never really know a person, and that person will never really know themselves. Some say that everybody is infinitely unique of each other, that we're connected by coincidence but nothing more than that. I think that is not true. There are a limited amount of emotions in the spectrum of our perception, so at one point in our lives we will feel the same way as someone else, somewhere, about something. I won't delve too deeply as to say that we are all connected in some sort of circle of life, but I think there are ties that bind and we're all really in the same boat. Buddha tells us time and again that "Life is suffering." I am beginning to think that he is right, and am realizing that it is not as dark and cold an implication as that statement may first seem.
When you walk down a busy city street you will pass hundreds of people. A man in a 3-piece suit, a woman carrying groceries in an earth-friendly tote bag, a preschool teacher wearing colorful necklaces made by her students, a homeless teenager who's trying to find money to smoke crack. Appearences are deceiving because although undoubtedly we all live separate lives, we're all bound together by our suffering. Anyone, anywhere you meet, at any time, has some sadness about them. There is something that does not let them sleep at night, and fills their empty thoughts during the day. The things that affect us the most are often the things that bring us the most profound sorrow.
Why is this? If life is as transient as we are lead to believe, it would seem that life's greatest misery was that we spend it in such a miserable state. Maybe we should take a look at what we are feeling. Maybe sorrow is not ugly, maybe it is beautiful. I think perhaps the shortness of life makes these feelings beautiful. We're alive and capable of experiencing these unimaginable lows. By some unforseen luck a handful of atoms make up what we are, and instead of idly floating in the coldness of space they have assembled and we can think and touch and see and hear and feel.
Ajhan Chah said, "Grasp at nothing. Resist nothing." Instead of fighting it, just maybe it's best to wallow in our miseries. To have compassion for all else, because we're fighting our own battles. Maybe only after we have immersed ourselves in this can we truly be happy.
Or maybe I am completely wrong; it's not really up to me to decide.

Well you may throw your rock and hide your hand Workin' in the dark against your fellow man But as sure as God made black and white What's down in the dark will be brought to the light
You can run on for a long time Run on for a long time Run on for a long time Sooner or later God'll cut you down ....Johnny Cash
Johnny Cash was really such an amazing person. This song is so great because it kind of transcends religion. It's not neccessarily speaking literally in terms of God or Christianity, but more so that karma is a bitch. I think I agree with what he's saying...what goes around comes around, and the things that you're running from will catch up with you in the end.
Something that makes me hacked: People who don't understand the art of discretion. Say you are having a personal conversation with someone. Or you want to tell someone something, really open up to them. Maybe you are at the point where you just want to get things out in the open; where you are basically putting yourself out to dry. You do this, and what do you get in return? Mockery. The other party does not seem to understand the value of an A-B conversation, or the value of how sharing the intimate details of the conversation with others would make them feel. Maybe nothing was ever meant to come of the conversation and nothing would ever be the same, but the fact remains that there are better ways to emotionally react to the situation than to put another's sincerity on exposition.
Something that I think is pretty great: Staying up really late. It can feel kind of miserable, but last night I was up until about 3:30. It's weird how differently your mind works under exhaustion. Everything is in an intensified state. Music sounds better too.
Okay that's all.

What a fast week!
Thursday I went and grabbed some lunch with Christina. We caught up at Bear Rock Cafe, which is pretty great let me tell you. Wicked good soups. Anyways, after lunch we went over to the mall, which is in the grips of some ridiculous sales. I got a bag at Bath and Body for $3....it was originally $55. Impressive, yes? I had class that night, which was slightly less entertaining than last time. I have a feeling it is going to get old really fast. What was sick though, was that me Megan and Hannah hung out after class. There wasn't anything to do at all, so we stopped at Roger's house because there was a party. It was mostly his Hannaford peeps though, so we left. We went to Friendly's but didn't end up even going in, we just chilled in the Spirit for a while and called it a night.
Friday, me and Nicole vaccuumed and washed my car. It now has a delightful orange citrus air freshener which matches the citrus bottle of Febreeze that I now keep in the Spirit. I don't know what it is, but bad odors randomly emit from the car. It's definately an improvement, but I'm thinking I should have invested in some floor mats long ago. We visited Katey at her ice cream truck, which was parked at Dunns. We got free orange popsicles, but they were kind of melty and both of us spilled ours. I went grocery shopping that afternoon because some of the people in my house are incompetent and don't care when we completely run out of food. That night, me and Nicole went to watch some of the legion game at the mount. They won! Too bad we didn't stay to see it. We got ice cream, then went over to Teken's for a bit because there was a bunch of peeps going over. Hilarious as always. We chilled all over and headed home after sitting by the fire for a while.
Saturday I woke up pretty late and sat around a lot. Nicole and I went to Katey's to celebrate her birthday with the moonwalk! It wasn't as bouncy as before but fantastic, obviously, nonetheless. That night Kim, Nicole, and I went over to see what was up at the circus/zoo/Tekens for a few minutes and ended up watching Van Helsing, which is a shitty movie, sorry Jeremy.
Today I am just getting pumped for the fourth of July! Which will be spent camping with Kim and enjoying the Yavorosky family.

It's been a while, and been a busy past few days. Summer is NOT slow!
Friday was the beginning of a ridiculously long weekend. I chilled around the house for most of Friday, until nighttime. Me, Bill and Nicole went on a slushie cruise to start off the evening. Then we all parted and went our separate ways. Gubba called me so we drove around aimlessly for a while. We called Jay and I took us on another pointless quest. We ventured through the Fernal School and made some classic remarks. By this time it was a torrential monsoon and we decided to call it a night, or so I thought. I dropped everyone off, but on my way home I got a phone call from Katey, who was at Pleasant House. I decide to drop in, and chat with Katey and Jill. I headed home and called it quits, called it a night.
Saturday I rolled out of bed and felt pretty awful. Then momster goes, "Let's go shopping!" I hadn't been in a very long time, so I jumped at the opportunity. There was tons of sales, so I was very happy to snaggle tons of great buys. After chilling at home for a while, I got all ready for a night out with Katey and Jill. We ripped the Rubicon around G-Veg with our iced coffees. Then, we decided to try to fullfill a most ancient and sacred quest. We called Teken, but between the four of us, could not complete the task at hand. We decided to postpone this mission until a later date, chilled at Tekes until around 11:30. Surprise surprise, people kept rolling in and it turned into a regular ole fiesta!
Sunday I hung out around the house for a while for a while, then went for another slushie run with the usual peeps. We got Katey, and me, her and Nicole headed over to Jill's house for an evening of fun. We went to visit Teken for a few minutes then headed back to the house, where Cole joined us. It was a long crazy night! The Terror Squad. We didn't go to bed until around 5, needless to say I'm still exhausted.
Monday, yesterday, I basically hung out around the house until I had to go to class at 5:30. Professor Murphy is actually surpisingly kind of sweet. He goes off on random tangents, and says, "I really hate that person," a lot. He also told us a story about a "creature who eats trees and kills human beings." I know a few other non-GHS people in the class, surprisingly. I wonder if we will all become friendly, or if we will remain in awkward silent companionship for the next 8 weeks. Only time will tell!
Tonight I have a game in Worcester. I really enjoy the drive out by myself. Just me, my thoughts, and the radio. You have to keep both eyes peeled though because 68 is crawling with popos. I'd like to find something to do to fill my afternoon. I will probably end up napping instead, though.
As always...have a good one!

Summer has been interesting, so far.
Friday, I can't for the life of me remember what I did. It must have not been too great, but either way it's driving me nuts.
Saturday night, me, Megan, Jay and Josh drove around for a bit then went to Megan's. Typical. We watched some of Van Wilder, it was alright but nothing special. Kind of a dude movie. College, naked chicks, binge drinking etc. and such.
Sunday was Father's Day, obviously. I didn't really do anything during the day because it was so hot. We went out to dinner, and then that night I had a fire. It was kind of difficult to start but Jay did a real good job getting it to light. Me, TOF, Jay, Carolyn, and Kim sat around and enjoyed the fire and some quality music compliments of my iHome iPod dock.
Monday was ridiculously hot out too, so I laid low during the day because I felt like crap to begin with, and I had a game that night. It was a good game. I'm beginning to really enjoy basketball again. I never thought that would happen, but I do.
The past two years I had thought tennis was going to be my number one sport, but then I realized it can be a little dry. It's really fun and is a great sport, but you don't have to be too much of an athlete to play tennis. Plus it dawned on me that I'm never actually going to shell out for lessons or anything constructive that costs money because my level of giving a shit isn't that high. It's a really social sport, in my opinion, and the fact that a lot of people who play tennis are pretentious assholes can make the tennis experience far less enjoyable. I've played some grade-A bitches whose custom monogrammed Prince racquetbags are shoved so far up their asses they've never seen the light of day. In basketball you can knock each other around and never really get an opportunity to be exposed to your opponent's potentially shitty personality. It requires a little more athleticism and a little less luck, because honestly, no matter how good you are at tennis, a lot of shots are just straight up lucky.
Monday night, me Gabby and Nicole went ripping in true Clochard fashion. We hadn't had an opportunity to do this in quite some time so it was good to be back, driving around singing along to the Fray and catching up.
Tuesday after a slight scare Kim and I hit up the mall. I got a sweet pair of plaid shorts, a wicked emo t-shirt complete with standard paint splattering and random hummingbird motif, and a fantastic blue and green sundress from the Gap. We pretty much got jumped by the overzealous Sbarro's employee. He's really Cuban or something but could pass as Italian. He used to work at the Greendale Sbarro's. Maybe he's moving up in the world. I got home and before I knew it, it was time to head out to St. Peter Marian for some b-ball. Another good game, I sank a sweet jumper from the perimeter. I drove the Spirit on its longest voyage ever. It was an almost flawless free trip, except in one instance when I had to turn into a CVS parking lot because there was a statey behind me at an intersection, and I wasn't sure if I could turn right there or not. I didn't want to get pulled over for something stupid like that so I turned around in the parking lot and went on my merry way. When I got back to Gardner I got ready and went out with Katey. We went to Hesse Express, which let me tell you has absolutely EVERYTHING. And I mean everything. I decide I am going to try a delightful looking Mountain Dew slushie. Katey poured it for me, but the Dew was still carbonated so 10 seconds later it is spewing like a volcano all over the counter. Hesse Express employees aren't anywhere near as nice as Cumby's Lady 1 and 2. We went to the chair where mad peeps were playing wiffleball. Did some casual chatting and the standing around our cars talking thing and talking about how boring Gardner is. I arrived home a 1/2 hour late for my curfew and nobody noticed or said anything. It was a crowning moment of the evening.
I then proceeded to stay up til a little after 1 and consequently feel like someone has hit me in the head with a pillowcase full of bricks. It's the only way to sleep though if I can't relax, I just stay up until I can't take it anymore then conk out as soon as I go to bed. It's made me think a lot about apprehension and stuff like that lately. Everything seems intensified in the small hours of the night. We all stress out about not knowing things. Not knowing what's going to be on the test tomorrow, not knowing if you're going to get grounded when you come home late for curfew, not knowing where a relationship is going in the face of change. These are unneccessary fears and I think communication is the answer. Ask your teacher what you should review, go see your parents when you get home instead of sneaking upstairs to bed, talk about the changes and figure out what's going on so you can both have peace of mind for good or bad. It's not the end result that drives us nuts, we're all designed to handle trauma. The kicker is really the wasted time spent not knowing. A lot of the time we are afraid of saying the wrong thing, but even that is infinately better than never saying anything at all.
Tonight I've got another game at 5:30, thankfully in Gardner. After that, who knows? I've gone out every single night so far this summer so I wouldn't want to screw up the cycle. It's certainly been an interesting one so far in this short time. Mostly good times. Summer is a badrillion times better when you have a car to drive. If things get straightened out and my car gets air conditioning, we will be running at maximum sickness capacity.
Waking up at 11 really throws your body off, I feel like I should be eating breakfast but it's already lunchtime. I've already squandered the first 12 hours of today so I should go capitalize on the last 12.
Have a good one everybody!

Burn One Down = Ben Harper |

Finally, I'm a senior.
Anyways.
So this last week of school was pretty much cake. Monday I aced the english and Popular Music finals. Later on I had a game, it was kind of rough but alright. That night I went to the street hockey championship with Kim and slushies. It was smelly and kind of boring, like I thought. We kept each other amused though as always.
Tuesday I ripped the French final. I went home and hung around for a while. Then Amy and I went to lunch at Bear Rock Cafe, it was wicked good. I believe it is way better than Panera. Maybe that's just me though. Anyways it was nice to see Amy because we hadn't hung out in a while. It was pretty toasty out so I hung around the house for the rest of the afternoon. Katey and I hadn't hung out since before beach week, so she accompanied me to St. Peter Marian for my game at 7:15. We had fun ripping the Blazer to Holden and watching me try to eat fries and drive. I don't reccomend it. It was a good game, I don't remember if we won but I had a good night. When I got back to Gardner I ran home to shower and stuff, then went over to the barn for a while and hung out with Megan and Jay.
Wednesday, I didn't have to go in because I didn't have a G block final. It was nice to have the day off. Hannah and I went to the grocery store and bought chicken ceasar salad supplies. We cooked it up all by ourselves and did quite a good job! Hannah is kind of psycho in the kitchen so I didn't actually do much to help but...I'm not complaining. After lunch we went over to Megan's and longued around in the sun and swam. A nice time was had by all. I had a game that night too so I went to that and did alright. It was the night of the band banquet, but Me, Megan, Jay and Josh had planned on going mini golfing. The band banquet was longer than expected so Josh and I just went on our own to Lancaster Golf. Little was I aware until we were well on our way that it was possibly the most obnoxiously difficult mini golf course the world has ever seen. All the holes are modeled after real PGA tour holes. Also to our surprise was the fact that it had torrentially rained there for about an hour and a half, so the course was soggy to say the least. Being intrepid, we sloshed through the quagmire. I got a hole in one. Josh didn't. I was approximately 9 over par....so I think we all know who won.
Thursday was the last day of school. (Obviously.) My parents were being really difficult and made me go. There was maybe 150 people at school. It was stupid and pointless. Had a nice life chat with Mrs. Daigle though, she's so sick. That afternoon there was more mini golf. Me, Megan, Josh and Jay set off for Mulligans. I got another hole in one. But Josh still won. I'll refrain from any contemptuous remarks concerning mini golf. We went to Panera then went back to Jay's. Jay and Josh were big on "boy time" so me and Megan had to sit and watch them play tennis. Jay put up a real good fight, I must say. We sat around in the barn for what seemed like 20 badrillion hours, during which I got mercilessly pelted with various Nerf brand projectiles. We drove to practically the fringes of civilization (that being the outskirts of New Salem) to watch the sunset over the Quabbin only to find that it is an easternfacing vista. Woops. Once back in Gardner, content with Wendy's, we chilled at the barn for a while. I left early because my mom makes me want to get in fist fights. Overall a pretty good last day of school though.
Today is the first day of vacation! Unfortunately I should probably go help my mom move her classroom. Not exactly what I want to be doing but that's life.
Summmmmmmmmer.

The end is in sight! A light at the end of the tunnel!
4 more days of finals (well 2, I don't have to go to school Wednesday and Thursday is just a day to get your schedules.) until I am home free.
Oh, Sweet summer. Basketball, tennis, macroeconomics, maybe a job, and straight chillin'. Sounds good to me.
Finals started Friday. The physics final was almost unsettlingly easy. Everyone was playing calculator games when they were done. Lately Tountcheva has become incrasingly interested in them. I think she wants somebody to install some on hers. Strange. I am getting pretty good at puzzle frenzy though.
Friday afteernoon, Me, Megan and Hannah went to Il Forno's for lunch, then browsed Linen's n Things to find stuff to redo my room. They're real forceful with their interior decorating ideas. They probably have better taste than me though so I'll end up listening to them most likely. I got suckered into going to the mall, which wasn't too fun because I didn't have any money to buy stuff. That's how the chips fall, I guess. Later on that evening, I wait around for a bit then pick up Nicole and Gabby from the relay and we stop by Teken's for a bit. Nicole and I want slushies and chocolate so we venture out, and plan on picking up B-Will as well. During this time while we were out, myself and other passengers almost lose our lives not once, but twice, as there are people on the roads that really need to re-evaluate their driving techniques. Rudimentary elements of driving include looking before you pull out of parking lots, and taking wide corners if your vehicle is gigantic...both are precautionary measures that ensure you do not kill other drivers on the road. B-Willickers was MIA for about 45 minutes, then we finally got him. We stayed at Teken's for a little bit then called it an early night because I had ACT's in the morning.
Saturday morning Hannah and I ventured off to Fitchburg to take the ACT's. We see Maylin...which is strange because Maylin graduated so I don't know why he was taking the ACT's, but okay. The ACT's were ridiculously easy. The essay made me real happy, too. The prompt asked us if we thought it was the responsability of fast food restaurants to provide a more nutritional menu. Needless to say, I ripped it apart. People need to take responsability for their actions, and pointing the finger of blame at McDonald's isn't going to cut it. Nobody made you go through the drive-thru twice, fatass. I left feeling good about how I did and ironically enough, hungry for fries. That afteroon, the family went out to lunch and we went to buy a new tv to put in the entertainment center that has only taken 4 months to arrive. Now I can watch television from the comfort of my couch, on a nice LG LCD screen that comes in HD. Well done, Linda and Butch. It's one of those TV's that you just leave on all day with the Discovery Channel playing, so that when people see your tv they walk up to it and comment on the crystal-clear clarity of the picture. "It really feels like I am in Africa, at the watering hole with that warthog!" and comments to that extent.
Later that night, I go over to Nicole's house. The three clochards eat lots of ice cream before heading out into the night. We end up at Teken's yet again, where his brother Dave was having a graduation party or something so there was tons of people there. Kind of awkward. Things were getting shot with a pellet gun. We all stop at B-Will's for a few minutes, but spend a majority of the evening hiding out in Teken's shed. It was bizzare. I am home before curfew, and everyone is happy with me. All is right with the world.
I have basically done nothing productive all day. I carried in the grocieries for my mom. I took a shower. I visited grandma and wished her a happy birthday. Take two of the tennis challenge continued also this afternoon. Although suffering from a severe handicap (incapacitated racket) Josh came up with a more forceful victory than last time. My frustration can not be put into words, I will only say that 3rd time is the charm and I will be victorious even if it takes my life.
Surprisingly enough, I have put in a decent effort concerning studying for finals. This is mostly to compensate for my slacking throughout the term. I am a master of late-night test cramming. It's kind of funny though, I remember freshman year when I'd study for 3 hours for Bio tests. Now I am lucky if I can keep my own attention for 15 minutes.
In other news, my new ringtone is Big Pimpin' by Jay-Z.
Have a good one!

So, the weekend in review. Graduation weekend. Pretty long and hectic.
Friday was the first day that I didn't have tennis. It was a little strange. Josh and I tool around Gardner for a while, look for Raj, (with no success) and visit Wal*Mart, where I purchase a great graduation present for Jay. It is a large, tacky, rainbow alarm clock with old-fashioned bells. We go over to the barn to meet Megan and Jay, and the four of us drive off into the rainy night in search of God knows what. 140 is the yellow brick road of choice for the evening, and Megan and I are told that we are looking for a "secret lake" which I know is in fact Wachusett Reservoir. Something about a ridiculous magical pole, which turns out to be a radio tower or something. Either way, most of the ride consisted of everyone being really mean to me. Karma's a bitch I guess. It was quasi-humerous anyways.
Saturday is, of course, graduation. The weather was, as we all know, unpleasant. The morning was just generally shitty. I didn't bother getting all gussied up (surprise) and Gabby and I traveled off to Katey's graduation party, which was absolutely lovely. There was even a large, blown up picture of the Cobras. Those Nees, they're something else....let me tell you. I watch Chris finish off some steak and chat with some peeps. Since graduation was indoors, I couldn't go. Channel 8 provided live coverage so I was able to watch the commencement ceremonies from the comfort of my couch. I would almost have to say that it could possibly have surpassed actually being there, because I had a blanket and leg room and various snacking foods. I'm not going to lie, it was a pretty emotional two hours of tv programming. Everyone looked absolutely amazing, and so happy. It kind of hit me, how empty the halls are going to be next year. I ended up making a lot of great senior friends this year. I took a quick shower and got all presentable looking. Gabby and I head out into the night in search of adventure. We call Teken, and venture over to his casa for a bit. B-Will and Bill happen to be there, so we congratulated the two graduates before they head out for the night. Me, Gabby, and Teken hung around for a while until it was time for us to meet Megan and Jay. We followed them out into the monsoon-like conditions to Josh's party in the wilds of Ashburnham. We didn't stay long because it was way late but Jay and I met Aunt Fern. Aunt Fern lives at Hillside with my grandparents, and Aunt Fern also felt the need to massage my butt. I guess graduation is an acceptable enough occasion to get groped by a senior citizen. After a few more humerous moments we rip home. By this time, the alarming, metallic scraping sound in my car is becoming very prevailant. Perhaps I bottomed out in Gabby's driveway. The source of this noise has yet to be found, and the sound itself has yet to be mentioned to my pops. I am hesitant for both events.
I stayed up very late the night before, so I slept in until approximately 11:15. I realize Jay's party is 45 minutes away, but then also realize that there is no way I can be ready for 12. I end up not getting my act together until almost 2. Jay's party was a real good time. There was lots of funny people there, and lots of Jon Zlotnik. Who, by the way, ate a cupcake in one fell bite. Well done, Hove. There was a crazy little girl who kept hissing at Jay's brother Josh, and Raj. She pawed the ground with her feet and kept charging during volleyball. Then I kicked the volleyball and, on accident, it hit her in the face. Then, Megan punched her in the face on accident. This didn't seem to dissuade her much, or make her like us less, because she was still dead set on killing the two boys on the other side of the net. There was much driving of go-kart, and DDR. Everyone was being a wuss and wouldn't play. I came home around seven and enjoyed some down time. I got a call from Katey around 9, and I journeyed over to the Nee residence to get some quality jumping time in on the Moonbounce. The Nee household is a wonderland, because the popcorn and cotton candy machines were still there. They have hawaiian punch, ice cold, on tap. Yeah I'm pretty sure that if you're not friends with Katey already, you probably will want to be real bad right about now. Even though I planne don being truant the next day, I had to be home for 10:30.
I took today off from school because it was physics day, and most of my classmates were going to six flags. I hate amusement parks and rides, therefore I didn't want to waste almost $50 on something I have no interest in. It's kind of good because my allergies are pretty ridiculous today. Me and Jay went to visit Megan for a while because she was real sick. I made myself a nice lunch when I got home and have sat around ever since. I've got a game at 5:30, kicking off summer league.
I kind of want to go to school tomorrow because I feel like all this sitting around at home begins to work against you after a while. Plus, I love learning new and exciting things in precalculus class. Just kidding.
Anyways, have a good one.

All At Once = The Fray |
] |
This past week was a pretty eventful one, kind of a week for tying up lose ends.
It was senior finals week, so they filled the halls one last time Monday-Thursday. Precalc is considered a senior class, so I took that final Thursday and surprisingly didn't do too badly on it. Friday was probably the most lonely and empty day of the entire school year. For me at least, everything seemed a little incomplete because 1/4 of the school was missing. I'd experienced it the previous two years, but I was an underclassman and didn't have many older friends so it didn't really hit home until this year. I hope this isn't what being a senior always feels like, because sure graduating and starting your life is pretty awesome but, as the saying goes, "It's lonely at the top."
Also this week, GGT had four consecutive matches. The squad ended the regular season with a record of 11-5, which was more than enough to secure them a comfy district spot. I had a sweet victory Thursday in our match against Westboro, because I actually won my match. Instead of losing to Westboro 0-5 like we usually do, it was 1-4. Granted, I probably ended up playing one of their exhibition players but, a win is a win. District seedings come out Wednesday, so right now we're looking at probably a home match on Thursday. I reccomend you all come if you're interested in watching us rip racquets.
The weekend has definately been pretty eventful so far. Friday night was initially considered to be a wash because the weather was drizzly and a little unpleasant. Gabby and I decided to go get some food and we ended up at D'Angelos, where we happened to encounter my old next-door neighbor. Him and his wife had pretty much watched my brother and I grow up, so we are pretty tight with them. It was nice to catch up a bit. After eating we got kind of bored, so we decided to track down B-Will and take him out for ice cream. I think he really enjoyed his java flavored treat. After we took B-Will home the boredom set in again. We called Josh and the three of us went ripping for a while. We stopped into Ashley's for a few minutes, it was pretty intense for the short time we were there. I heard it was a fun night.
Yesterday was the Earth Day festival in Boston. I wasn't really a happy camper when I had to unceremoniously drag myself out of bed at 6 o clock in the morning on a Saturday. In the back of my mind I had combined the rain and early time circumstances to be written off as a bust for the day. Me, Megan, Jay, Josh, and Hannah got to Boston fairly early and strolled Quincy Market for a while before heading over to the Hatch Shell to get a good spot. We strolled around the festival for a while before the performers went on, only to discover the wonders that would await. Free Stuff. I don't know many sweeter combinations of words in the English language. Free water, free iced coffee, free cookies, free salads, free roses...the possibilities were endless. It was so neat. The first two acts were alright, Alternate Routes and Brandi Carlile. Right before Brandi Carlile went on, there was an insane downpour. The stupid people in front of us had a tarp and all the water was dripping onto our blanket. It only lasted for like 10 minutes, and I had the neatsheet with me so after about a half an hour we were all relatively high and dry once again. A bunch of other Gardner peeps joined us for a while. Then, it was time for the Fray. Man oh man were they great! They sound really terrific live. I just wish their set was longer. Some of us really despise James Blunt, so Me, Megan, Jay, Josh, and Gabby left and went back to Quincy Market for some light shopping. And the COACH OUTLET! Just kidding, I don't even really like Coach. Anyways, Megan and I got stuff at Urban Outfitters. That store is pretty crazy, they have everything from chandaliers and jewelry to sex books. We saw a couple browsing "Position of the Day" and giggling, it was real awkward. After that, we got really hungry and decided to to Bertucci's for dinner. For some reason around that time, I got really angry for a little bit and wanted to fight everyone. Hannah and Corina called us after they were done watching the Bluntman and joined us for dinner. The pizza was really good, though the waitress was a huge bitch and I know I was not the only one who wanted to drop kick her all the way down Fanueil Hall. She didn't even deserve a tip, but she got one. We left Bertucci's and it was time for everyone to part ways. Corina, Hannah, and Gabby headed back to Gardner. After much deliberation due to my lack of an attention span, me, Josh, Jay, and Megan frolicked over to the public gardens. On the way, we stopped at this Murder Victims memorial. It was nice but kind of strange...it was this awkward zen-like rock garden with Boston murder victims names on rocks. The Common and the gardens were really nice at that time of day. There was tons of weddings going on, and squirrels that looked like they had seen better days. Jay spit on my backpack and my anger levels (which had gone back down to normal) soared for a few minutes. I am not a huge jerk, so I refrained from tossing his hat in the trash. We headed out down Newbury Street, where we passed tons of mouthwatering stores like Chanel, Burberry, Kate Spade, and Lilli Pullitzer. On the way to the subway we saw two of the scariest looking people I have ever seen. A girl in black and white pleather goth steeze and a guy in chunky heels and a black pleather short shorts getup. We kept seeing them too, it was awful. We got back to Alewife rather uneventfully. The setting sun was insane last night, we were driving westbound (obviously) back to Gardner so we got a nice view. Jay told us about this drug runner who has a really fast black car and makes drug runs from here to Florida in one night. Apparently he drives without headlights. I don't know how accurate a story this is, but if it's true I'd have to say that before I turned him into the police, if I met this guy I'd probably offer him major props and a high-five. Overall, minus a few minor unpleasantries, yesterday was pretty great. I had a good time.
Today is absolutely SENsational out, although I haven't actually been outside yet. I hadn't had an opportunity to sleep in for a few weekends in a row, so I caught up on some ZZZ's today. Tonight I might be heading off to Sh'Booms with a bunch of ladies, we will have to see. I hear it is pretty grimy, but I'll just pretend that I am Rose in Titanic when she goes down to party it up with the peeps of the steerage class with Jack. Otherwise I'll try to find some way to enjoy this Memorial Day weekend outside.
That's about all I've got for right now.
Summer come quickly!

The weekend in short; The weekend was long.
It was full and pretty enjoyable, let us recap:
Friday was the last day for the seniors. It was pretty sad. I will miss all my senior pals in the halls... like KimPatch, Katey, Jay, Corina, Bikemaster Dave, Josh, and B-Wiiiill! We didn't really do anything in any of my classes. Even Mrs. Tountcheva was pretty lenient. It was senior prom, so all the seniors got dismissed at 11:30. Empty halls. I can't believe I am almost a senior. Talk about growing up way fast.
I didn't have tennis that day, so I relaxed all afternoon, it was nice. When Gabby and Nicole were ready, we went out to dinner at Chili's. While we were waiting, we went over to Dick's Sporting Goods and parused the aisles. While I was testing out the Gazelle, (Which for those of you who don't know....the Gazelle is a heavenly little exercise device that is similar to cross-country skiing.)I happened to put my purse and belongings down. We were walking back to Chili's because we figured our table would be ready by then...when I realized I had lost my keys! Thankfully, after running through the store we found they were right next to the Gazelle. Close call. We had a lovely meal, then headed back to Gardner. Somehow, we end up going to Teken's house. There was a bunch of people there; it was pretty fun. B-Will kept everyone laughing as always. I don't know which fight was worse; the two beta fish battling, or Gabby and B-Will. Either way, we left around 10:30 to go to Jay's house for his post-prom bash. Corina came all dressed up, and she looked lovely! Ramos, Frank, and Craig came by too. Craig was too scared to battle me. We could only stay for an hour so we headed out and I was home in bed around 12.
Saturday, I had to get up nice and early to go to the state tennis tournament at Shrewsbury. Let's just say, my match sucked. I think I played the world champion of tennis...her serve was insane! Olivia was the champ for the day, she made it through to the second round. We went to Denny's to get lunch, came back to the courts, found out Olivia wasn't playing for a wicked long time, and decided that my dad would drive me and my mom back to Gardner so that I could go to my basketball game in Keene. He had to go back to Shrewsbury because he was the stand-in coach. I drove me and my mom up to Keene, and we won hardcore. It was sweet because we only had 6 players. On the way home, we stopped at the Piazza and I got the most amazing raspberry soft serve I have ever had. When I got home, I got cleaned up and went to pick up Gabby. We checked out Nicole's new house. It's gorgeous. Her room is wicked sweet, and I'm pretty sure I love her deck. We decided we were going to go to Teken's again, because B-Will said he was going to make a fire. On the way there, B-Will called and demanded that we get him and Jeremy food. We go to McDonald's, and there's this huge pile of rice on the ground when I open my door. It was gross and really obnoxious for some reason. Upon arrival to Teken's, we find there will be no fire due to saturated firewood. We hung out there for a while, got hungry again, and went on an adventure to get food. Nicole was being silly, it was funny. They got dumb tattoos at Ocean State. Everyone decided to go Potvin's, but we got there early, got bored, and left. I was wicked tired, but for some reason I felt compelled to stay up and watch that show "Yo Momma" until midnight.
Today, I had games at 10:30 and 3:30 in Keene. We are always shorthanded. I have to admit, I ripped pretty hard, both games. I dunked on some poor girls. In between games, Lyndsay and Erin came out to lunch and shopping with us. Coach Mucci's little granddaughter became obsessed with us. We checked out some gorgeous dresses, and creeped out the lady working at this other store. Maybe it was because we pretty much sampled every perfume/cream/soap/makeup sample there was there. Erin and I both bought this absolutely amazing lip gloss...$5. Kind of a splurge but it's delightful, made with sugarcane, coconut, lime, grapefruit, and orange. I also go this wicked pretty necklace, and Erin and I got awesome scratch paper at this ridiculous toy store. I got gelatto for the first time, and let me tell you...I think it's love. It's probably the best tasting thing I have ever had. Mint chocolate chip gelatto.
I came home, and discovered Darren had cleaned the house...and dumped ALL of my stuff in my room. It's a disaster area now. Jerk. I'm pretty exhausted, so I'm going to go clean my room, dry my hair, and get some rest.
Four matches this week! If everything works out according to plan, GGT will finish the regular season 10-5 and excitedly enter the postseason.
I hope you all had a nice weekend.

So, I figured I owed you all an update. It's been quite some time. That being said, I don't really know where to begin. I had lots of thrilling little adventures, but it seems as if they happened quite some time ago and aren't really worth delving into anymore because they aren't fresh.
Last Friday, we had the AP Test. Mrs. Rahaim did a great job teaching us all year, and I surprisingly think I might have passed. I hate US History but I felt more confident than I thought I would. After, me and Hannah went to Kay's and got Megan and hit the mall for some light shopping. It was nice.
The next day, I had the SAT's! Talk about miserable. They're so tediously long, and repetetive. After what seemed like a bajillion hours of that, Ms. Kim Pervier came by and we set off to Andover for our AAU tournament. We got lost because my mom is inept with directions and Darren is a huge jerk. We were late for the first game. The other team was from Albany, New York, and a few girls took the SAT's there and got on a plane and flew to Massachusetts after. It's just AAU...honestly. We did alright for not having played together before. Sunday I played more basketball.
This week was long, stressful, rainy, depressing, and overall just a huge piece of crap. The fantastic Katey took me shopping Tuesday though to cheer me up and it did work quite well! I even got the Rave shirt everone hates. But overall, I'm pretty glad the week's over with. I don't have any homework so I look forward to relaxing and enjoying the weekend. The state tennis tournament was cancelled for tomorrow so I have Saturday off, too.
This was a pretty pointless update, but, I hope it wets your whistle. Haha.

To say the least the past week was very long!
We had 3 matches, and we won 2 of them. GGT imrpoved to 5-2 on the season, not too shabby ladies. Wins went over Quabbin and Oakmont, big loss no surprise to Westboro. I didn't even play in the Westboro match because we knew we weren't going to win and coach didn't want me to aggrevate my knee or something.
Friday night was prom! During the day, there was lots of running around town and last minute preparations. I glued my fingers shut with nail glue. Eric and I had fun. Darren is a crappy photographer, so a lot of the "nice" pictures involve lots of squinting. Then Megan and Jay came, and we took a few more pictures. We left to get up there for 6 and were some of the earlier people. Prom involved lots of boogie-ing, stepping on dresses, picture crashing, and a little getting sick because some people were pretty gross. I was impressed, all the girls looked great. My only complaint would be that the music was kind of weird. After, we went to Chris's til about 2. Then I slept over Megan's with Hannah, Carolyn, and Bay Bay. Overall, a pretty fun evening! Minus the incessant "Meggy Bell" ing. Haha.
Saturday morning I woke up at the crack of dawn (okay, 9:30) and we went to see Heather rip as Jasmine in Aladdin. She was great, obviously. I came home, sat around for awhile, then went up to the Gansett-Murdock baseball game for a little bit to cheer on the baseball stud. I was getting pretty chilly so I went home and relaxed for the afternoon. At night, Katey and I decided to rip the balloon launcher...sadly we only have weak girly-strength and were 1 person short. Bill calls so we get him to join us, and then Craig happens to be at Wendy's too so he comes. They sat in the back on the floor...the Rubicon's backseat was out. Everyone was bickering, it was kind of funny but kind of scary. I kind of felt like I was on Splash Mountain... I don't know why we left the water balloons in the back with those two. I was late for my curfew and I was mysteriously rather wet, but somehow my mom noticed neither of these things when I got home.
Today I ripped pretty quickly through my research paper. I was kind of impressed. I have tons of homework to do though, so enjoy your Sunday everybody.
Hopefully the coming week will be a little slower!

So yes, it is finally here. The final day of vacation. It was a good run, filled with laughs, tears, (well, not really, but things that would bring you to tears) anger, surprise, and general all-out good times. I'll do my best to recap this momentus span of time.
Sunday night. I last left off thinking it would be a typical, boring Easter night. My brother went ripping up to Portland minutes before dinner was on the table, my parents never do anything exciting, and I figured all of my friends would be tied up for the remainder of the day. I went to visit my grandparents, and that was nice because I never make time to go see them. I got home around 8 and went over to Megan's to jump on the trampoline with her and Jay. He kept trying to punch me, "in the babymaker," for some reason. And trying to tackle me. Unfortunately for him, (or so I thought) I never fall. It was not until later that night that karma would get the best of me. I get a phone call from Ill Bill, and we meet up around 9:30. Somehow he had some heavy duty, high quality plastic wrap in his car, and apparently he needed to seek some revenge on a wrong dealt him earlier that day. We set out in the Spirit in an attempt to do this, but when we got there the scheme was foiled quickly and we gave up. Going around the rotary, we see Megan and Jay in the rearview mirror, trailing behind in the Subee. We pull over on Green street to chat. I get out of the car and go talk to them. The next thing you know, I hear something along the lines of "What would you do if I just drove off?" In an attempt to prevent my car from being stolen, I tried to run over to the car. However, on the curb of the sidewalk, there was a metal brace from where some sort of street sign must have been. I tripped over it and fell like a sack of bricks onto the road. It hurt real bad, and was pretty embarassing because I was right in the Subee's headlights, so Megan and Jay got a great view. Even though my hand was all scraped and my knee was throbbing I thought I was fine, so for the rest of the evening I just subjected myself to everyone's ridicule. I got home around 11, and decided to ice my knee a little because it was beginning to swell. I fell asleep, but woke up around 4. I got up to go to the bathroom or get a drink or something, and on my way back I must have tripped over something. I don't remember what happened, but the next thing I know I'm flat on my back on the hall floor, with my parents standing around me! I had a crazy fever and I felt really sick. My mum (bless her, Linda) helped me back to bed and when I woke up I didn't feel sick anymore.
Monday was the realization that I really had taken quite a tumble. My knee was swollen to twice its normal size, and I could barely walk. I spent the entire day icing and elevating. This was disappointing because Me, Megan, Jay, and Hannah were supposed to go watch the marathon in Boston. I would have needed a wheelchair. I looked like I had died, but everybody was really nice and offered to come over and visit me.
Tuesday, my cabin fever had begun to set in at an unusually high level. Linda felt bad for me and decided that we could go shopping. She got me the blue and white polka dot purse I had wanted for a long time at AE, and at Gap, I got the black and white strapless dress! It was a big surprise because it wasn't on sale, but after I tried it on good ole mum loved it and decided I could get it. It made me real happy, thanks Linda. My thirst for social interaction was still driving me bonkers, though. Megan and Jay were going to come get me, and when I stepped outside my house after what I thought was the Subee, I realized it was not Megan and Jay, but Frank and Ramos! They felt bad for yours truly and decided I deserved a cheer up visit. An imprompteu wiffle ball battle commenced in my yard, Megan, Hannah, and Jay showed up, and it turned into a real partay. We had a nice smokey fire, roasted some marshmellows, drank a little mountain dew, played a little b-ball, and had a couple laughs. Some of my lovely friends confiscated my phone, and let's just say they got me really mad. Everything got patched up though. It was a fun night.
Wednesday, I didn't stay at tennis practice because my knee was still in no shape for that kind of stuff. That night was pretty terrifying. Me, Megan, Jay, Hannah, and Ramos went on an adventure. First we went to Calico and Creme to get ice cream. Jay broke the swing during some freak accident where he went flying yet landed on his feet. Pretty impressive. What was funnier was watching the little kids try to swing on a swing that Ra Ra had wrapped around the pole, and the fact that the parents could probably hear us having a little laugh over it. We drove around more, and somehow ended up at the High Ridge parking lot. (For those of you who don't know...the place on 140 where you park to go to the asylum.) We pull in, and think we are alone until the headlights catch something reflecting. We high beam this seemingly dark and deserted corner, and there is a red truck, backed all the way up under a tree, as if the driver was trying to make it look abandoned. Then, there's a man! Just sitting there, staring back at us. We drive off quickly, but in the rearview we see the truck raced out of there right after. We decide to pursue. They pull into the Colonial Hotel, probably to lose us. We turn around at Maki, and see the truck pulling out! We decide to pursue again, only to see this truck on the other side of the street...letting a DIFFERENT man out of the car! Sketch! Then the red truck sees us, and tries to follow us! Thanks to Jay's swift driving we were able to lose them. Pretty terrifying if you ask me. A while later we ended up at the Templeton Ice Cream Barn, where we find the playground is sealed with "Crime Scene: Do Not Cross" tape. Overall, a pretty weird night.
Thursday was, as we all know...4/20. This sounds sketch but I don't really remember what I did on that day. I went to Millbury to go shopping with my parents, because it was wicked nice out and I figured I could just sit in the sun on a park bench. While I was in the Gap, I got a phone call from my kids in Italy, Katey and Chris! It was nice to hear from them. As for what I did that night, I honestly couldn't tell you. So if we hung out, let me know. **Edit** I visited with Nick. Back in the day, we used to be BFF's. We listened to Aesop and caught up on what each other was up to. We were kind of bored because everyone was probably off celebrating or something.
Friday night seemed to be very long. I had basketball practice from 6-8, but it's not like I could do anything because my knee still sucked, and I hadn't done anything at tennis either. I got home, showered, and got Nicole. We hung out at Wendy's for a while, and let me tell you...Wendy's is really the place to be. This AstroVan pulls up next to me, and literally like 10 gangsters (not the cool kind, the scrubby dorky kind) fall out. One of them was so big that he landed on my car and it rocked back and forth. We decided we had to go in to Wendy's to investigate this and get some frosty's. Who do we meet next but Sir William? He visited us in my car, but we all know the Spirit is really a piece so we went to visit him in his. This car pulls up, and surprise surprise, it's filled with more gangsters. These ones were more hardcore, but wicked unattractive. We were all having a nice little laugh at how dumb they looked. To make a really long story a little more short, a rude gesture from a gangster almost resulted in a rumble at the Wendy's parking lot. Nicole and I got out and ran away; apparently you don't do that in these situations. Woops. We left Wendy's and went to Ramos's to get him and Frank. The Chair seemed like a good place to go, so me and Nicole (also known as Team Risky Business) watched the males play a little football. I had the great idea to make Ramos "go long," and me, Nicole, and Frank ran to my car and drove off. Ra Ra had the last laugh though, because then we couldn't find him and got worried and drove around looking for him. He was hiding on top of the chair, the sneaky bugger. We drove around then called it a night.
Saturday, or yesterday, I just hung around at home for the most part. I was supposed to go out but Karma can be a jerk, haha, so it's all good. I think I had Chinese and then watched a movie in bed, because recently it's been ridiculously chilly.
Today is the last day of vacation, and I've spent it doing schoolwork. I haven't thought twice about revising my shitty research paper. Although that reminds me...Mrs. Anderson's email told me that "If I was a real friend, I would peer edit Megan's paper..." so Maybe I should go do that. Or do my badrillions of pages worth of reading for history. I can't believe the year's almost over and that the AP test is in 2 weeks. I am not expectint to pass, considering last year I thought I had the test in the bag with at least a 4, and I ended up with a 3. If I could just pass something I was so sure of, then there's no way I will pass something I'm not sure of at all. Sucks, but oh well. Maybe I will surprise myself!
School, match tomorrow. Hopefully the match will be rained out, I wouldn't mind an extra two days of rest for the knee.
Speaking of knees..I miss my Katey Nee. And my Goober Gabby. and Ashley BayBay. And Christopher.
Well, if that wasn't long winded enough...I apologize.

Don't Look Away = Josh Radin |

This past week was different, because it was short but weirdly exhausting.
Monday, we had a match at Nashoba, we lost 2-3. It was close, and their lineup was pretty sketch. They probably have the creepiest coach in the league. Every time any of us had a good shot, he would just yell "Don't worry, (Nashoba girl's name) that was just unlucky." No, maybe we're just good! He also used to hit on coach Gallant/Hemlin a lot last year. When we go on the courts to warm up, we have to pick up their balls. That's like having people over for dinner and telling them to wash the dishes. Anyways, it was pretty obnoxious.
Tuesday I only had practice after school so I tried to dedicate some time to completing my research paper. However, I didn't, because I hate research, I hate writing papers, I hate my topic, and I don't like English class. That seems like a negative stream of conciousness, but it's really only one thought because I deem them all one and the same. I also went to Temptations with Ramos to help him pick out his tux because he's helpless and can't do it himself. I suppose I shouldn't let my impeccable taste sit idly by, though.
Wednesday, we had a home match against Marlboro. Surpisingly, they sucked this year and we won 4-1. Maybe this was due to their #1 player flunking off the team, but I think we could have won regardless. She's a real prize, that #1 of theirs. She's a sophmore, but she's played #1 since she was in like 8th grade. She's tiny and probably the most miserable person I've ever encountered. Cuddly as a cactus, that one. She sat scowling on the bench the whole time. I won my match 6-1, 6-0 I think. Maybe it was 6-2, 6-1, but it was a pretty forceful victory whatever it was.
Thursday, we had another match, home against Groton. This one was slightly more difficult, but I think we won this one 4-1 or 5-0 or something like that. I won mine 6-3, 6-2 I think. She kept rushing the next so I just kept lobbing it over her head, you'd think she'd have figured it out after the first 10 times. But I can't really knock her; she seemed really nice which is a rarity in the tennis world. Hannah, Carolyn, and Ramos came to the match which was very nice of them. Coach and I had good convos on the bench too. I kind of love Coach. That evening, me and Hannah went to the mall to do some pre-vacation shopping. We got dinner at panera, which made Hannah pretty happy because she loves panera. I don't really like it all that much but I was feeling indulgent. I got a brown tank top at American Eagle for $14, which made me real happy because it was originally $24. I also got a gold necklace for $5, bargain of the evening. Strange, I used to hate gold but now I like it better than silver, almost. I like gold in all jewelry other than rings. I think silver rings are better. That wasn't really relevent to anything, but anyways. I got 2 pairs of flip flops at Old Navy for $5, which is an amazing bargain. The world would be shoe-less without Old Navy flip flops, take a minute and think about it. I also got a pink "wifey," commonly known as "wife-beater" with blue swirly things on it. I wore it yesterday, I like it. Even though it's kind of way long. Overall a quality shopping excursion. When we got back to town, we picked up Nicole and went on a little adventure. We climbed the big chair and met some random kids from Winchendon. Hannah really wanted to rip flagpole rope, but the other 2/3 of the group did not feel inclined to risk arrest. We drove around town, pondered about Josh's abandoned vehicle at the tennis courts, and had quite a strange encounter that does not need to be written about here. Haha.
Friday night, Hannah and I sat around in the park enjoying the "sun" and playing some frizbizzle, otherwise known as frisbee. Let me tell you, she stinks. I stunk too at first, but she doesn't understand that it's all in the wrists. Megan joined us, and we went back to Hannah's to give her birthday presents. I got her way awesome flower sneakers, and I put it in a sick gift back that coincidentally had a TOF rocket whose smoke spelled out "Happy Birthday." Later that night, after tof got out of church, me and Jay ripped over to pick her up and pretty much went balls to the wall in an effort to get to Kimball's in Jaffrey before it closes. Even with some major setbacks and slowpokes, we managed to get there with time to spare. Jay kept trying to punch everyone in the babymaker. That's my BFF for ya. We ended up driving around I think, and I called it a pretty early night.
Saturday, also known as yesterday, was pretty much ridiculous. I didn't get off my lazy arse until approximately 3. Me, Gabby, and Nicole decided a clochard adventure was in order so I picked them up and we roamed all over. We visited Heidi at work, because not only were we Hungry 4 Pizza, but we were Hungry 4 Heidi. Nicole saw her friend Gary and had a cow; Gabby kept waving to cars passing by and flipped out because this nerdy kid in a blue T-top convertible kept driving around. It was amusing. We went to dollar tree and bought a frisbee, but then we couldn't find anyone who would actually play frisbee with us. We drove by the Chair and saw boys relieving themselves on it, charming. While we were driving downtown, we saw the most amazing sight ever. The Easter Bunny, riding shotty in a blue convertible. First I saw big white ears, but it didn't register until after that there was a big white furry body sititng in the passenger seat. Only in Gardner. We called B-Will and it was real funny because him and Gabby were bickering and I couldn't really understand what he was saying. But B-Will's my buddy so it's all good. Gabby had to call it a night because she had swimming real early, so we dropped her off and me and Nicole went to Stop and Shop and Blockbuster, hoping that we'd see somebody we knew. We didn't. We were pretty disappointed and decided to go to Cumby's Chill Zone before we called it a night. Then poof! Big Bad Bill. We took him adventuring. By adventuring I mean, watching him play with the bubble wand that is in my backseat and laughing really hard when he hit the already mangled hand on my window while attempting to launch a cup at a kid on a bike. The kid on the bike had flashing strobes on his spokes, which I suppose just makes him a target for projectiles from passing cars. Then I decided it was time to go home. On the ride home after I got rid of everybody, the moon looked pretty awesome over Dunns. It was orange, and barely elevated over the trees which was strange because it was around 10:30 by that time. I was pretty tempted to pull over and take a picture. I went to bed pretty early again, at around 11. I think I might be turning into an old lady.
Today's Easter, but it doesn't really feel like it. That doesn't bother me too much though, I never really liked Easter anyways. I hate Easter food, but my mom did a real nice job cooking dinner, so kudos to you, Linda. Everyone's pretty annoyed because Darren loves Easter food; yet he is not here. He went ripping up to Portland approximately a half hour before dinner was set on the table because his girlfriend Laura got stranded at the airport, and they lost her luggage and stuff. She's supposed to go study in Chile. Maybe he's a decent boyfriend, if not a decent brother all of the time. Slightly comforting.
Now I'm just waiting around to go visit the g-rentals and stuff. Stan and June are pretty amusing.
Happy Easter and stuff, if that's your steez.

This past week was very long and intense. We didn't have a lot of homework, but there was tons of other stuff going on.
In regards to Thursday, I'll say simply that it was a tragic day for many different people for many different reasons. My thoughts and best wishes go out to everyone. In less important news, GGT won their season opener Thursday afternoon in Littleton with a mighty score of 5-0. I won my match 6-2, 6-0. Next time I'm shooting for a shutout because I kept making stupid mistakes in the first set. I played a girl who shall be referred to as "Big Red" and let's just say she's quite the character. After, we went to Kimball's and it was delightful because they have my favorite ice cream, raspberry chocolate chip. This Westford Kimball's is way better because it has a nifty mini golf course that I think I'll have to make a journey to this summer. I hear it's a ripoff but it's too fantastic looking to not splurge on once.
Friday night a few of us celebrated Hannah's birthday in grand fashion. There was a lot of merrymaking to go around, and Mrs. Wagner outdid herself as usual with a fantastic brownie display. Hannah didn't want to hurt anybody's feelings but she later was quoted as saying, "Meg and Megan's gift was the best by far...nice try everyone else. The card Meg made was really mean but I love it because I appreciate her sense of humor and think she's the wittiest person I know." There was a Corina-Jay rematch, which my BFF Jay somehow managed to pull out the W for. As for the Art Memo rematch, me and Hannah won, dethroning former champion Eric Ramos. We put him in his place. The shame continued for Mr. Ramos in the billiards department, where the combined efforts of Ms. Katey Nee, Corina Hopkins-Vacca, and myself overthrew the team of Jay and Ramos. I personally put the game away by sending the 8 ball to the corner pocket. Boo ya.
Saturday afternoon, me, Gabby, and Nicole went up to the River Rat canoe race in Orange. There wasn't really much to see, and I couldn't see the Ray Hendricks band as I had planned because there was too many biker gangs around. We saw Erin and Joel, her pops, who successfully completed his 33rd consecutive River Rat. He claims it "is an event, not a race." A nice run-in was also had with Ms. Katherine Warder, who agrees that she has to journey down to G-Vegas in the near future. On the way home I showed my babigurls Doane's Falls, and they liked it a lot. Gabby rides shotty, and she seems to be willing to fight anyone and everyone for the coveted spot. That evening, me, Katey, and Hannah went to dollar tree and purchased a motley crew of supplies for a good evening. Rip it, animal crackers, water guns, silly string, and balloons. We decided against attacking Marcus after we had a nice phone chat with him, and Potvin was nowhere to be found. We drove all over trying to find the pit party so we could lay waste to the drunkies, but it was getting late so we decided to attack some hommes playing frisbee at the chair. I'd say it was a success. Nobody messes with the Animals on the Loose.
Today I woke up at 11:00, which is some kind of record. I just had lunch, and I'm putting off starting my research paper. I do not want to do it, and I'm hoping Mrs. Anderson gets amnesia within the next 4 days.
I'm going to try to salvage the rest of my afternoon...as should you.
Goodbye and good luck!

This was a very long weekend.
Friday evening started out pretty cruddily because tennis got me real mad. Then, Megan and I went to the mall to get a white blouse that she needed for something, probably MICCA. I got a cute tank top at American Eagle because I felt bad for myself over not being able to find suitable shoes to go with my khakis. When we got back into Gardner, we called Jay and decided to meet up with him, Burns, and Kristen. We went and got Hannah, and met at Wendy's like all the cool people in Gardner do. We ended up going to High Ridge, which is one of the best places in Gardner if you ask me. It was delightful out and there was lots of stars and the lights from the prison were strangely kind of pretty. Jay told some funny stories like always. Since everyone except me is in band and therefore had to attend MICCA at 5:45 the next morning, we called it an early night.
Saturday me and Katey went up to Jaffrey to pick up my dress because it was done! While there Katey found a wicked pretty dress too that she will most likely purchase for prom. We roamed much of southern New Hampshire and Northern Massachusetts in search of ice cream. Then Katey's ice cream ended up being served in an awkward french fry boat. Who does that?! Later on, me, Megan, Josh and Jay tried adventuring. I drove and it was kind of weird because there was lots of awkwardly small frogs hopping across the road in the rural areas and I think we probably ended up running over lots of them. It must be mating season or something. I impressed everyone with my knowledgability of the central Massachusetts area, but I had a heck of a time trying to get to Doane's Falls. There was sketchy people by the time we got there so we ended up cruising down to Athol and getting pizza. Later that night I was beginning to get really overtired thanks to daylight savings time. I hate watching televised sports but I was sitting on the couch watching the LSU game when my phone rings. Nicole and Goober apparently enjoy prank calling people so I went to pick them up and take them for a night on the town, hoping it would improve my mood. It did. After like 60 laps of the greater Gardner area, we encountered some boys from Athol in a band at Stop n Shop. They seemed pretty interested in Nicole and probably wanted to band-bang her. Maybe this was because me and Goober ran in the opposite direction every time we saw them. These boys pursued us in the parking lot and Nicole exchanged digits. Their band isn't too shabby, we checked their myspace. And myspace doesn't lie. I dropped them off at their respective dwellings and came home to be cranky for a while before I went to bed. I'm pretty mean when I'm tired.
Today I kind of got tricked into going to Worcester by my parents. I ended up getting a tennis bag, a new bathing suit, socks, handy tennis shorts with pockets, and some shoes to wear with my khakis. Ahead is a stupid history essay and studying for the math test tomorrow. Ugh. Precalculus is really not my forte.
In other news, I got a nice little letter from Wesleyan about basketball. Recruiting and junk. I'm not really interested in the school but I'll still check it out. I don't really know how I feel about basketball but I would play it in college if the opportunity arose and my playing would get me some money towards my education.
Summer, please come quickly!
